F-50 Mahogany & Red Cedar

This F-50 has been hand-built using Master Grade Mahogany back and sides, paired with a Red Cedar top. Non-standard custom features include leaf fretboard inlays, Bog Oak headstock face plates (front and back), abalone body inlay and an abalone/figured-wood soundhole rosette.

Mahogany is perhaps one of the most versatile tonewoods. Possessing strong mid-range frequencies, it offers a tonal clarity and focus, while its density and hardness contribute to long sustain. Mahogany is a favourite with players who enjoy a wide range of musical genres and disciplines. It is also particularly well-suited to studio and recording duties.

GL Electric Series

The GL Electric Series originally came about when George Lowden was asked by Ed Sheeran to design an electric guitar for Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody. George went away on a design retreat and thought about everything he would want from an electric guitar, and how the design would fit with the Lowden aesthetic and values. The result was the Lowden GL-10, combining the finest natural wood finishes with the impeccable craftsmanship and attention to detail associated with every Lowden Guitar.
