Braces are carved to match the natural resonance of the wood. Necks are shaped to exacting tolerances, then refined by feel. Nothing is outsourced. Nothing is automated. We build slowly. GL Electric Series

The GL Electric Series originally came about when George Lowden was asked by Ed Sheeran to design an electric guitar for Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody. George went away on a design retreat and thought about everything he would want from an electric guitar, and how the design would fit with the Lowden aesthetic and values. The result was the Lowden GL-10, combining the finest natural wood finishes with the impeccable craftsmanship and attention to detail associated with every Lowden Guitar.

In 2004 George decided that a series of guitars similar to the original series but with a couple of upgrades would be great to oﬀer to the players who wanted the best tuners you can get on the one hand, but also had a little more detailing in the appointments in general. So the 35 series was born.
