As the name says this wood is from Tasmania and looks very like Koa from Hawaii.
It is medium density and the surface is medium smooth but a bit coarser than Koa.
The tone is similar to Koa I would say or nearer to a good grade of American mahogany.
Less overtones but very easy to record.
